Gun Dean Says
'If Gore Wins, You Lose'
U.S. Newswire - 28 Sep 2000
|WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- "If Al Gore wins the
presidential election, you most likely will lose your most precious
civil rights," said national right to self-defense spokesman John
Michael Snyder here today in a message aimed at the nation's scores
of millions of law-abiding firearm owners.
Snyder, named dean of gun lobbyists by The Washington Post, The
New York Times, The Washington Times, the New York Daily News,
CNBC-TV and others, added that "the Gore gang is committed to
undermining severely if not eliminating entirely the individual
Second Amendment civil right of law-abiding American citizens to
keep and bear arms."
He added that, "right now, for pragmatic political reasons Gore
is down-playing his totalitarian support for universal mandatory
photo-identification gun owner licensing and other gun-grabber
legislative schemes, but his public record is clear. He has never
met a gun control proposal he did not like. His election would be
tantamount to an assault on the right to keep and bear arms, the
right to self-defense, the right to life itself."
This weekend, Snyder is scheduled to address the 15th annual
national Gun Rights Policy Conference, co-sponsored here by the
Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and the
Second Amendment Foundation. Snyder is Committee Public Affairs
Director and Foundation Treasurer.
