Billboards cause controversy
MILWAUKEE, Apr. 7 – Some anti-gun control billboards are stirring up controversy in Milwaukee. The billboards, one of which is located at Jackson and Water, say, “RAPISTS LOVE TRIGGER LOCKS,” and they show a woman being attacked.

The Milwaukee Jewish Council said the group that paid for the ads does not represent the Jewish community as a whole.

A GROUP CALLED “Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership” paid for the signs. Their spokesman said trigger locks are dangerous.
“The purpose for owning a gun is to defend one’s life against evil-doers. Trigger locks make it difficult to stay alive, so what’s the value of a trigger lock?” said Aaron Zelman of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.
But some medical experts said the billboards give the wrong idea.
“It gets your attention, and that’s what I’m concerned about. It gives them misinformation,” said Dr. Jim Mercy of Firearm Injury Center.
Three of the billboards are being displayed in Milwaukee this month.
The Milwaukee Jewish Council said the group that paid for the ads does not represent the Jewish community as a whole.
