Firearms Advocacy & Qualitative Review

Gunnery Network is non commercial.  We do not sell firearms or firearm related products. However, we do maintain web links to most, if not all of the commercial firearms manufacturers and to firearm industry related webs.

We do not receive any form of payment or reciprocals form any firearms companies or firearms industry related businesses. Thus we remain objective and informative and with out any commercial interest or conflict of interest. When we tell you a product is great, we will have also told you it's suitability to task, it's assessed value and we will have paid for the product with our own money and with no strings attached.

I will be happy to answer any question on the value and most importantly, the suitability to task of any firearms products you may be considering for purchase or use.

"No Banners, No Blinkers & No Bull"

You may have noticed there are no sponsor banners and no advertisements on Gunnery Network. I hate them and so do most of the web surfers I speak to. They are annoying and also a waist of our bandwidth and they slow page loading times. Our official motto is "Armed with the Power of Knowledge" but our unofficial motto remains - "No Banners, No Blinkers & No Bull".

Thank You For Your Support

Many people have ask us how they can help.  We have established a few easy methods to support our educational project and to keep Gunnery Network non commercial.

You can make a direct contribution - Click Here - for details. You can go to the Donations Page and use our Amazon Portal.  When you do, 5% of the purchase prices goes to Gunnery Network.  We are not going to plaster Amazon Dot Com Banners all over the site.  As stated above. To use the Amazon Dot Com Portal - Click Here - or click on the "Thanks For Your Support link on the footer of most of our pages. For more information on Amazon Dot Com - Click Here.

We are considering some promotional items featuring the "Gunnery Network Logo" and Pro Gun Rights messages for sale online to support our production expenses. As always, your input is welcome.

The Basic Layout - http://www.GunneryNetwork.com

As Gunnery Network has grown and matured, I have tried to create sections and sub-directories that contain similar content.  The best Index is on the Main Index page, typically the second page you see after you click on the gun graphic or "Enter GunneryNetwork.com" on page one.  For ease of navigation, this is also the page you return to if you click on the "Cross Hairs or Bullet" graphic on the top and bottom of most pages.

To return to the Main Index, simply click on the "Cross Hairs" on the top and bottom of most pages and you will be taken to the main index page.  From the main index, you can see the many different sections and pages from the left hand column.  The main  areas are: Gun Safety, Gun Rights, Gun News, Gun Glossary, Gun Links, Great Gun Sites, Ammo Web, Reloading Web, The Unofficial SIG Web and Gun Graphics.  A link to all these sections is below.  Please consider making Gunnery Network your homepage and help yourself to a Free Gunnery Network E-mail address.

Safety First, Safety Last, Safety Always! - http://www.GunneryNetwork.com/safety/

Our web index starts first with "Gun Safety".  The gun safety link is on top of the index and should be the top thing we stress and foremost in our minds whenever we handle firearms.  Almost all firearm accidents are preventable.  As a "Jumpmaster" I was taught that the three rules of safety are; Safety First, Safety Last and Safety Always!  Make safe firearms practices a part of your gun routine and teach new shooters and young folks about range safety.  On the range or around guns, we are all range safety officers.  We are as gun owners also "ambassadors" of our sport and for the legitimate defensive use of arms to the "outside" world.

Sad to say, but their are "people" in this world, who would like nothing better than to portray gun owners as a bunch of "unsafe, inbred, booger picking morons", that are "cornfield killers" and "low life uneducated red necks." Law abiding gun owners can easily dispel these ugly stereotypes with safe firearm handling practices and by engaging the "antis" in intelligent dialog. Particularly about the millions of legitimate defensive uses of firearms annually. And the fact that 99.9% of all firearms in America will never be used in a crime.  Feel free to print out or other wise redistribute any of the information on the safety page.  Safety is everyone's business, so pass it on.

Shall Not be Infringed - RKBA Web - http://www.GunneryNetwork.com/RKBA/

The Right to Keep and Bear Arms Web or RKBA Web is designed to increase awareness of the political issues involving our basic Human Rights, Gun Rights and Civil Rights. The RKBA Web exists to make the public aware of our struggle to maintain the right to keep and bear arms.  We attempt to inform and educate our readers by using objective, honest, unfiltered information.  I feel that a definite bias exists in the main stream media and hope that with my efforts and those of the many contributing writers, we can even the playing field and help protect our basic human rights to self-defense and personal firearms ownership.

Technical Information - Gun Glossary - http://www.GunneryNetwork.com/glossary/

The Gun Glossary is intended to increase one's knowledge, understanding and appreciation of firearms.  Starting as a single page of definitions in 1998, it has developed into a very large multi-media firearms encyclopedia over the last four years.  Gun Glossary is rich in information and is chalked full of graphics, history and unusual items.  It also contains the basic definitions and common usage of most firearm, shooting, gun, ammunition and gunnery related terms.

The Gun Glossary is certainly worth a look and is also available for use as a comprehensive reference and as a training tool for new and old shooters alike.  The Gun Glossary is available for use by Gun Clubs, Police Departments and for other non-profit use. To receive a copy of the Gun Glossary in a format suitable for your organizations use, just give us a call at 541-487-4902 (Pacific Time) or send an e-mail to: [email protected].

Gun & Firearm Related News

Gunnery Network is also home for Gun News.  In the Gun News section you will find Firearms Industry News as well as links to several new resources.  It is also the source of the Gun-News-Daily and Gun-News-Weekly Internet Mailing List.  The Gun-News Lists are Internet mailing list in e-mail newsletter format, with varied content on guns and Second Amendment issues.  Please Note; We NEVER share our subscriber's e-mail addresses or our mailing list with anyone. So, the lists and your e-mail address will never be given or sold to anyone.  The Gun-News Lists will not be used to send unsolicited e-mail or to "Spam" you. If "someone" demands our list, they will have to kill me first.

A Word of Caution

As an honest firearms enthusiast, and since I am not an engineer or gunsmith, I must caution readers that although I have done my best to validate and otherwise confirm the technical, legal and historical information contained on the site, it is for reference only.  Some legal information and advise is given, but I am not a lawyer.  Please take the information and use it for reference only.

I strongly encourage you to validate and confirm any information on firearm and gun laws, as this area of law is complicated and varies greatly from one location to another. The gun laws in California are not the same as the gun laws in Oregon and so on. I also caution that much of the ballistic and reloading information has to be taken with a cautionary statement. For safe hand loads. start with 10% less powder than the listed maximum loads and work your way up.  Your loads and results will vary.

The same cautionary statement applies for the owners manuals and maintenance and customization information provided.  Be careful, be safe and seek professional help with your guns and ammo.  If you have a question, I will be happy to assist you.  Feel free to call us at the numbers below or send and e-mail to: [email protected]

All About Marv a.k.a. "Marvin The Viking"

Gunnery Network loosely exemplifies my experience and interests in firearms.  I am a firearms enthusiast and shooter. I am a certified law enforcement instructor and a certified firearm instructor. I am also a political activist and a writer with a love of firearms and history.  I am not a gunsmith and I am certainly not an engineer. However, I do have great love for guns and shooting and I have been actively involved with gunnery, both personally and professionally for over 30 years.

I am the proud owner of several fine arms and carry a handgun 99% of the time, as the law allows.  My personal favorites are the SIG P226 and Walther P99 in a side arms. And the AR-15 in a defensive/sport rifle and the Steyr ProHunter SBS, Weatherby Mark V and Remington 700 in a hunting rifle.  My defensive shotgun preference is for the Mossberg 500/590 series in 12 gauge and for Sub Machine Guns I like the Swedish K, the Uzi, and the H&K MP5.  I try to visit the shooting range a few times a week and I compete in IDPA and IPSC and do some skeet & trap shooting as well.  Mostly I just shoot holes in paper.

My personal shooting experience started back in the early 70's.  Like so many American boys and girls from the mid west, I was taught at an early age to appreciate what the shooting sports and hunting have to offer.  My Grandfather had a large working farm and I was allowed to progress from my Daisy BB gun to a .410 shotgun and on to a 12-gauge Bolt-Action Mossberg, soon followed by a "sporterized" British .303 rifle with a 3x9 Weaver scope.

As an early teen I participated in duck, quail, pheasant and dove hunting in my Kansas and Oklahoma environs, and on my grand parents farm in Pawnee county.  I also used my paper route money to buy a skeet thrower and several cases of clay pidgins.  I built my first gun, a .56 caliber CVA black powder mountain pistol when I was 15 and have been reloading since I was 16. (For those keeping track I am now 43.)

My professional gunnery experience stems from my enlistment in the U.S. Army in 1978 and a long and fruitful carrier as a Paratrooper and Special Operations soldier.  I was medically retired as a Master Sergeant (E-8) after 15 years of service.  During my time in service I was fortunate to be assigned or attached to some of the finest military units in the world, including the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), the 82nd Airborne Division, 10th, 5th and 7th Special Forces Groups (Airborne) and elements of the Special Operations Command in the U.S., Europe, South West Asia and in Central and South America.

I hope you enjoy Gunnery Network and I hope it can help you understand the importance of guns and firearms in our society and their impact on history.  If you have any questions or suggestions about anything on Gunnery Network, please let me know by sending e-mail or giving me a call.
