The Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) is doin' it up right at its Annual Meeting
this year! Celebrities from across the country are scheduled to attend TSRA's
three-day event, which kicks off Friday, February 23, 2001 at the Omni
Richardson Hotel near Dallas.

Singer, Songwriter and Second Amendment Advocate Charlie Daniels is headlining
the Saturday evening banquet, and TSRA is anticipating a full house. Daniels is
best known for hits like The Devil Went Down to Georgia and The South's Gonna
Do It Again. Daniels is also a noted firearms-rights advocate and strongly supports
TSRA's mission of promoting firearms safety through education, not legislation.

"We are looking forward to this year's Annual Meeting. We have a lot of exciting
activities planned for everyone. This year promises to be our most successful
meeting ever," said Executive Director Randy Gibson.

Susan Howard, star of the 1980s television series "Dallas!" will host the Sunday
luncheon. Howard is a member of TSRA and a well-known Second Amendment
advocate. National Rifle Association 1st Vice President Kayne Robinson will host
the Saturday luncheon. Robinson also serves a assistant Chief of Police for the
city of Des Moines, Iowa.

TSRA is also hosting a series of public safety seminars free of charge as a public
service during its annual meeting. Please call for times and availability. The
meeting will also feature a legislative panel discussion. The panel will address
various gun control issues facing the 77th
legislature.

Ticket prices vary by event. Tickets for the banquet are $55, and tickets for the
either luncheon are $30 each. For more information, please call TSRA at
972-889-8772 or visit our website at www.tsra.com.

The TSRA is an 82-year-old organization that is the state's leading advocate of
safe, lawful and responsible firearms ownership. For more information regarding
this story or TSRA call (972) 889-8772.
