QD: Abbreviation for Quick Detach or Quick Detachable.

QUAKER GUN: A fake gun or false cannon.  During the American Civil War both Armies would take tree trunks, paint them black, and position them so that they appeared to be artillery pieces.  By doing so, they could fool the other side into believing that they had more artillery than they really did.  Quakers are a sect of Christians who are also pacifists.

QUICK DETACH:  Usually referring to an easily removable attachment for a scope mount or sling swivel.
